Letter from Headteacher
Dear Parents/Carers
I would like to thank all parents/ carers who attended the Open Evening last week Thursday, as always we appreciate your valued ideas and I feel that the meeting was very successful. As a result of this meeting we sent letters home on Friday to ask all parents/ carers for their vision, if you did not receive this letter please see the main office for a copy. Please support the school in completing the form and returning it to the main school office.
You would have noticed that Daubeney now has a txt messaging service. We find that this is a very successful way of communicating important information at short notice. If you have not received any messages could you please visit the main office and ensure that the school has your correct contact information.
I also want to extend a special thank you to the Senior School Council for their support in creating this weeks newsletter, they had some great ideas and fantastic article writing.

Haiti Earthquake Disaster
Following the recent tragic events which caused massive destruction in Haiti, the School Council have met and decided that they would like to raise some money. All money will be donated, to help the unfortunate families and children, who have been affected by this disaster. It has been agreed that we will hold a Non-Uniform Day and a Jumble Sale.
On Friday 22nd January, we will have a Non-Uniform day, and will be asking for a donation of £0.50p per child. We will also have a Fruity Friday, where fruit will cost £0.20p each.
We will hold a Jumble Sale on Friday 29th January, at 3.30pm. We would really appreciate donations of old toys (in good condition), old books, and cakes (please ensure that the cakes do not contain any nuts). All donations can be handed in at the school office.
Should you wish to make a cash donation, we will be happy to collect this. You can leave your donations with the school office.
Message From The Headteacher
Dear Parents/Carers
I hope you've enjoyed the first two weeks back at Daubeney and that you had a wonderful Winter break.
We have many activities planned for this term and we are hard at work to improve our parental partnership. I will be starting fortnightly school tours at the end of January. All parents/carers are welcome to sign up for these tours which will take place on Wednesdays.
On Monday 11th January 2010 we hosted our Reception Open Day. This was a well attended day and I would like to thank all Reception Staff for their hard work in welcoming new pupils to Daubeney.
As promised in previous newsletters we will be hosting a parent/ carer Open Evening to discuss the latest OFSTED Report. The parent/ carer Open Evening will take place in Thursday 21st January 2010 from 6pm - 7pm. The OFSTED Report is also available online here and has been sent home with pupils. If you did not receive a report please see the main office for a copy.

Message from the Headteacher
It's hard to believe that it's already the end of the first 2 weeks of the term. We've had a very exciting 2 weeks with Bonfire Night being even more successful than last year.
As you are aware we are expecting our next HMI visit within the next month and we are working hard to prepare ourselves for this very important visit. The school is looking better than ever and I want to thank all the staff and children for their hard work.
We started our weekly coffee morning today and I encourage all parents/carers to join us where possible, we also have our annual International Evening on 20th November 2009 and it would be wonderful if we could make this evening as successful as the Bonfire Night!
Regards
Jane Hunter
