Home Learning is an activity that should enhance your child’s experience so at Daubeney the activities we give all children are based on skills that will be useful and help them to learn during class time.
Lower School
Years R, 1 and 2 children should have 1 hour per week of home learning and this should be reading, spelling or/and number work.
Key Stage 2
Years 3 and 4 children should have 1.5 hours of home learning per week which should be linked to literacy and numeracy activities such as spelling, reading and learning tables, with occasional projects such as independent research in other areas.
Years 5 and 6 children should have 30 minutes per day with an emphasis on literacy and numeracy with occasional projects such as independent research or creative writing.
